HA3 Task 1 - Game Setting Research

            ''Standing Strong''
                                        Single Player Survival Horror RPG

Setting
The game is an apocalyptic survival horror. So the terrain and setting needs to look old yet slightly futuristic considering its the year 2020.  And destroyed/abandoned to fit the setting of the game. I've researched the internet for old terrain settings based in a different part of the world. For one I researched Pripyat, Ukraine. The pictures of the area/towns are the scenario and texture style I was looking for. Here are the example of what he buildings and the overall area that would be inspired for my video game. The whereabouts to where the game will be set, is going to be set in America and the year is 2020. I also took the kind of mood/setting of The Last Of Us. I liked the games yellowish tint that it had for their game. It made it feel deserted and destroyed/abandoned. The other last game that I had huge inspiration from was the older Resident Evil games that are probably the best survival horror games till this day. The dark tint that game had, will also be taken into consideration for my game. Not only that but the zombies in that game are probably the best so far out of all the zombie/survival games today.

My game was  inspired by Resident Evil, which is also a single player survival horror game. I liked its old school visual art, and how it fit the city and made it even more creepier than it was. Resident Evil was created by Shinji Mikami who was the creator of the game, he currently works at Capcom who is a popular company not only for the Resident evil series, but the Devil May Cry series and Street Fighter.
